We have published Vol. 4 of “CEBU TRIP,” a travel guide map of Cebu Island, Philippines, issued by Cebu Trip.

The cover title of the CEBU MAP from Vol.1 to Vol.3 has been refreshed to "CEBUTRIP"! This handy guide map delivers real, local information for tourists and language students visiting Cebu. It is in A5 size, making it easy to carry. In addition to a map that clearly shows the entire layout of Cebu Island, you can scan the QR codes for each spot to check more detailed information through web articles!
The cover of this issue features, once again, Aya Kondo from the “Philippine Enthusiast Team.” This time, she revisits Cebu Island with her husband, KEI, who is also a video creator! Through their Cebu journey, they shared their experiences of marine sports, a relaxing spa, and trendy cafes with beautiful spaces—offering a different, more authentic side of Cebu beyond the typical tourist spots.
During their trip, they showed their natural smiles, shared their “dreams for the future” between shoots, and Aya expressed her thoughts as a Filipino-Japanese.
This time, we also bring you plenty of the warm atmosphere the couple radiated.

The Cebu Island map is designed with key facilities in Cebu, such as the Consulate General of Japan in Cebu, hotels, language schools, restaurants, cafes, travel agencies, spas, and more, primarily focused around Mactan Island. It is also available at other cities and the Philippine Embassy in Japan, including the Philippine Department of Tourism (Tokyo and Osaka offices).

In this edition, we will introduce some must-visit destinations on Cebu Island, including breathtaking islands you can reach from Cebu, marine activities, a resort spa experience at Amuma Spa, CEBU acai bowls and sweets, and trendy resort restaurants on Cebu and Mactan Islands! We also feature the stunning Pandanon Island and the stylish seaside restaurant "Brisa," with the collaboration of singer-songwriter SUN and travel creator Tomo, who joined the shoot for this feature. Behind the scenes of KEI & AYA's Cebu Island shoot!
The stay in Cebu began with a shoot at the popular resort hotel, "Maribago Bluewater Resort", "Maribago Bluewater Resort" on Mactan Island. Surrounded by the clear blue sea and the tropical atmosphere, photographer KEI captured many beautiful shots showcasing AYA's radiant smile.
At the hotel’s spa, "Amuma Spa," there was also a luxurious scene with flower petals floating in the bathtub. This shot beautifully highlighted AYA’s natural, cute expressions while also emphasizing the luxurious feel of the moment.

On the second day, with the cooperation of "JAC Friendship Watersport," we took on shooting marine activities. We enjoyed jet skiing, thrilling tornado rides, and parasailing with stunning views! Blessed with perfect weather, it turned out to be a day full of refreshing and fun shots.

This time, KEI's high school friend, @jun_suga_sekidou, also joined, creating a friendly and relaxed atmosphere during the shoot.
Interview with KEI & AYA
We asked KEI & AYA about their impressions of Cebu Island and their private lives!
They shared, "No matter how many times we visit Cebu, we are always amazed by the healing, inspiration, and the rapid growth of the Philippines! This time, we were able to enjoy Cebu Island with a plan that fully satisfied us."
We also asked them about how they met each other.
For the activities, they used the action camera GoPro, which was the catalyst for their meeting!
When we asked them about how they met, they shared, "We actually met at a GoPro event. At first, we were just 'travel-loving friends,' but as we talked more, we realized that our values and perspectives were very similar..."
On their first date, they immediately set off on a journey crossing Mexico and Cuba. Truly, their relationship was built through travel.
We asked about how they met and learned more about what makes them both special!

"My mother is Filipino and my father is Japanese, but when I was young, I didn't really think about being half-Japanese and half-Filipino as I was growing up."
Aya shared, "When I first visited Cebu for a language study trip in my twenties, I had an experience that completely changed my life."
"The moment I stepped off the plane, I felt strangely like I had 'come home.' I was surprised myself, but tears just started to flow... I realized, 'Ah, this is where my roots are.'"
Since then, Aya's desire to learn more about the Philippines and share its beauty with others grew stronger.
"I want to share the 'true charm' of the Philippines with more people through social media and events. I believe that is something I can do."
The Philippines is always changing, so I want to share what it's like right now.
Aya first visited Cebu about 10 years ago and says the city has changed a lot since then.
"Honestly, many people used to think of Southeast Asia as a bit scary. But now, the resort areas are well-developed, and the safety has improved a lot. The restaurants and cafes are stylish, and the Wi-Fi is great!"
Aya wants more people to know about the "current" Philippines, which has evolved so much.
"Of course, the resorts are great, but the main thing I want to share is the 'warmth of the people.' The culture of caring for family and the spirit of hospitality... I think that’s the true charm of the Philippines."

KEI is a studious and sincere person, always considerate of Aya and those around her. He creates a relaxed atmosphere on set and acts as a mood maker. It was impressive to see how he shares values with Aya while also embracing new challenges together.
KEI is using his video production skills to create content for tourism and promotion. Recently, he worked on a project with the Philippine Department of Tourism and filmed tours with EXILE's Aran Shirahama, who is the tourism ambassador. He plays a key role in showcasing the beauty of the Philippines.
On the other hand, KEI also provides study abroad support through the " Step up Study Abroad " program for those considering studying in Cebu. With real-life advice from his own study abroad experience, he offers strong support for "step-up after studying abroad." Additionally, KEI’s acquaintance, "Gamp Suzuki," who is traveling around the world by rickshaw, is currently crossing the Philippines! Through the Step up Study Abroad program, there is also a project to study at a language school in Cebu.

What we value most while traveling together as a couple is "following our heart's compass."
"When you follow your instincts and chase what you love, you’ll find that life becomes surprisingly interesting. Do what you love, in places you love, with people you love, as much as you want. I believe travel is the best way to invest in yourself, as it opens up new perspectives on life."
