A new spot in Cebu where you can enjoy authentic conveyor belt sushi!
This sushi restaurant is located inside the newly opened SM J Mall, which debuted in the fall of 2024. It was produced by NONKI, a well-established Japanese restaurant in Cebu known for its long-standing reputation.
Supervised by Japanese experts, the restaurant is gaining major attention from the moment it opened for offering both high-quality, authentic sushi and the uniquely Japanese conveyor belt sushi experience—right here in Cebu.

With around 15 locations mainly in Cebu, Nonki is well-loved not only by Japanese travelers but also by the local community. In this article, we’ll take a deep dive into "Sushi Station", the latest addition to the Nonki group!
The interior of "SUSHI Station" is inspired by the design of a subway station in Japan.
The interior is uniquely designed to resemble a Japanese subway station, and many people are eager to take photos!

Sushi Station might also be a popular photo spot where guests can enjoy a taste of Japanese atmosphere.

As you pass through the ticket gate entrance, you’ll notice some of the menu items displayed like posters or designed to resemble a subway map, showing great attention to detail.

The interior is thoughtfully designed to resemble a subway station, with intentionally low ceilings and moderately dim lighting. Even the floor features yellow tactile paving blocks, adding to the authentic detail!
The front block of seating is specially designed to give customers an even stronger sense of being in Japan, with Japanese music playing in the background at all times.

Toward the back on the left side, you’ll find a large screen!
It plays anime and other shows without sound, making it a great spot for kids too!

Each booth can comfortably accommodate around 6 to 8 people, making it perfect for meals with friends or family outings!
Even amid the ongoing Japanese food boom in Cebu, the conveyor belt sushi style is still rare, offering a fresh and exciting experience for customers. And of course, for travelers, it's a delightful treat to enjoy that familiar feeling right here in tropical Cebu.
Why it's recommended for travelers
"SUSHI STATION" is truly a lifesaver, offering a convenient spot to stop by and enjoy something different.
- Located next to Toyoko Inn Cebu, it offers the perfect location for guests.
- Orders are placed via a touch panel, so you can easily order!
- It's also a great spot to stop by during a shopping trip at SM J Mall
- With reliable Japanese quality, it fills both your stomach and your heart
It’s also great for dining with friends or for business meetings. Perfect for everyday use too!
Let's place an order!
Orders are generally placed through a tablet.
It's convenient to check the current order status and total amount from the tablet.

The sushi is made to order and delivered directly to your table via the conveyor belt.
Once it reaches the table, the cover automatically opens, allowing you to take your order — a system that also ensures excellent hygiene.

It seems this system is unique and many people were taking photos and videos of it.
Also, when you order a certain amount, a game automatically starts on the tablet — if you win, you get a free item! Unfortunately, I lost this time, but it was still fun while waiting. I'm even thinking, maybe next time I'll keep ordering until I win!
Featured Conveyor Belt Sushi Menu
Sushi Station offer a wide variety of dishes, including classic favorites from Japan like salmon, tuna, squid, and yellowtail, as well as an extensive selection of rolls, soups, side dishes, and desserts!

There were also some unique items like eel paired with cream cheese and deep-fried sushi rolls! Cebu has many Japanese restaurants and sushi spots, but what makes Sushi Station stand out is the large, thick, and fresh cuts of fish — making everything not only delicious but also fun to eat! Every dish hits the mark, with authentic Japanese flavors beautifully recreated. ◎
They also offer creative combinations like sushi burritos — which led to some pleasantly surprising discoveries. Plus, they have a great variety of salmon!

There are more than 10 different types of salmon dishes — including regular salmon, fatty salmon, seared salmon, salmon belly, and salmon rolls — topped with ingredients like avocado, onion, mayonnaise, and cheese. It’s a salmon lover’s paradise! You could easily enjoy an entire meal just with salmon.
And believe it or not, it’s not just the sushi menu that’s popular — the side dishes are actually a big hit too!

They offer a wide range of dishes commonly found at conveyor belt sushi restaurants in Japan, such as French fries, shrimp tempura (₱130), chawanmushi (₱115), and various noodle dishes. The takoyaki is deep-fried, giving it a crispy exterior and served piping hot — perfect for enjoying between sushi plates! Everything is delicious, and even those who aren’t fans of fish can fully enjoy the meal. ◎
Among the most popular items since the restaurant opened is the Udon Carbonara (₱420).

Thick, chewy udon noodles are served with a rich, cheesy sauce and topped with a soft-boiled egg — it’s an irresistible combination that's bound to be delicious!
They’ve also put great effort into their dessert menu, offering tempting treats like sakura daifuku, mochi parfaits, and matcha pudding — everything looks so good, it’s hard to choose just one…

The sakura daifuku is a bite-sized, adorable treat.
The salted sakura blossom on top is a lovely touch, giving it a distinct floral flavor. It’s perfect for those who just want a little something sweet.
The mochi parfait, on the other hand, features a refreshing yuzu flavor.
With layers of yuzu jelly, pudding, and other elements, it’s surprisingly filling — but thanks to the light, citrusy taste, I finished it in no time!
